I have been reading The Shack. It is such a wonderful book but it is very hard to explain. It is about God and the relationship to us as humans. It is done through a story based on a man and his family and a tragedy that happens to them.

God has given me so many blessings to be thankful for.......family, friends, health, work, etc......the list would be too long to continue.

Happy Birthday My Sweet Anna

I can't believe Anna is 8 years old today. When she woke up this morning I told her happy birtday. She informed me that she isn't officially 8 until 3:00 pm (time she was born). - LOL Yes, it was 3:00 on a Saturday afternoon. I was having some high blood pressure issues. Even had to do the urine collection for a 24 hour period to check for protein. On that Saturday 8 years ago, my husband and I were getting ready to watching Notre Dame play football on tv. My dh says wouldn't it be nice to have a baby to snuggle with on a day like today. A few hours later I woke up startled from my nap, running to the bathroom. Yikes, my water just broke and Anna wasn't due for another 6 weeks. My husband was a basket case, I was shaking so hard trying to call the birthing center. We finally got to the hospital and into a room, my ob checked me and Anna was breech. So, it was off to the surgery room for a c-section. Anna was 5lbs 12 ounces and 17 1/2 inches long. She had to be under the oxygen hood for 24 hours and continued to be hooked up to several monitors for 7 days. We were so happy when whe would take a half of an ounce of formula. She would get so tired from sucking and had to be stimulated to even do that.

All of this was just a sign of things to come. She likes to do things in her own time and she is such a drama queen. LOL

Time Flies When You are Having Fun

I can't believe we just had our 10th wedding anniversary on September 5th! We actually went on a childless "date". We saw Mamma Mia........what a GREAT movie!!!!!!! Then it was on to Johnny Carino's for Italian food. I've been going around singing the songs to the movie. I love ABBA music.......takes me back in the day. Now Anna knows the words to the song Mamma Mia.-LOL

Molly went in for a grooming and is now 41 lbs..........ok you can stop growing now. :) She is so silly.......she barks at her reflection in the windows. But, she can sit, stay and fetch.

It was so cool out this morning, I feel fall on the way. This is my favorite time of the year.

I'm hoping to get some pics up today or tomorrow.

Ok, enough rambling.

Surprise

We've been planning on buying a new van in the spring. My husband surprises me over the weekend and said for our anniversary (Sept 5) we can get a van now. WOOOOOHOOOO!! Luckily I've been doing some checking out of vans so I pretty much knew what I wanted, a 2008 Honda Odessy. We just got it yesterday but I already LOVE it. Especially that new car smell.-LOL Several of my friends name their cars. I'm taking suggestions. :) It took over 3 hours to iron out the details so we didn't have time to go to my favorite restaurant...OLIVE GARDENS.

On a sad note, a recent graduate (July) of our nursing program was killed over the weekend in a helicopter crash. It was a tragic loss, he was a great guy. Please remember to give your loved ones a hug................

Our first soccer games.......yes, I said games.......both kids are on teams this season....are this Saturday. I'll take pics and try to post them.
SO now we have work, school, gymnastics, piano lesson, two soccer practices and two soccer games plus homework and daily piano practice. I might find time to breathe.

My husband is on vacation this week........but.........I have a very long list for him to keep him out of trouble. :)

I hope everyone had a safe and happy Labor Day weekend.

School Daze

WOA, it has been forever since I've written.
Let's see, we've been to the zoo and the Children's Museum since I last posted and had a great time at both. I LOVE the zoo.
I can't believe school is starting tomorrow. My baby will be starting Kindy and I'm sure it will hit me hard when he gets on the bus. I'm sure big sister will help him to his room..........the question is..........will he let her.-LOL Tonight is open house and we get to meet Anna's teacher. She is so excited for school to start AND she got the teacher she was wanting.
I'll get pics tomorrow and try to post some.

Summer?????????

I can't believe it is July already!!! Where has the summer gone? School will be starting in about 6 weeks.

Molly was spade last Tuesday and got thru that just fine. She gets her stitches out next week. Good Grief! I think dogs should be allowed as dependents when you file taxes. She had the surgery, medicine for pain, flea/tick topical stuff (6 month supply), Heartworm meds (6 months supply) ear medicine due to ear infection in both ears, solution to put in ears after bath to keep from getting ear infections, microchip = $$$$$$. The love she gives.........priceless.

I finshed my first Stephanie Plum book and I've started on the second. I now have a beautiful bookmark from a friend and smile everytime I see it. ;)

Weight loss...........hmmmmmmmmmmmmm no comment. (HA) I am doing better, just not as well as I would like.

We went to the zoo last week and had a fabulous time! I LOVE THE ZOO. I'll try to post some pics later.

New/Old Hobby

I've heard so much about this series of books that I've decided to start reading. It has been FOREVER since I've read a book for fun that didn't involve a Disney Character or wasn't from the Magic Tree House series. - (LOL) I used to love to read so I'm excited about this. Most of my reading time will come when the kids are playing outside and I can sit in the sun and lounge between cooking, cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, treadmilling etc. I have to have my quiet time after everyone is in bed so this will be a prime time to read. I have read about 18 pages so far. I have already found Stephanie to be hysterical. Can't wait to pick it up again.

Keep Me Honest

I have struggled with my weight for more years than I care to remember. I'd hate to say how many pounds I've lost over the years but they seem to be the same ones.-LOL I've decided to start, not a diet, but a change in eating habits AND get back to the treadmill. I hope I will have more of a mind to stick with it if I feel pressure to document it here. I will take a before picture but if it shows too much fat, I will not post it. (ha ha)

I've done Adkins and Weight Watchers in the past. I think it is going to be more WW but not do the grains. Carbs seem to cause me trouble.

Oh yeah, I'm not stupid so this is going to all start on Monday. I'd be setting myself up for failure if this started on a weekend.

Today would have been my brother's 39th birthday. He passed July 1985 in a car accident but I still think of him every day.
